OPI I Lily Love You

It is SO good to be back! I was seriously feeling deprived of my nail blogging time! So sorry it has been SO long since my last post. It was NOT supposed to be this long! Originally I was going to only be MIA because of a vacation that I was on to New Orleans (it was hot, and gorgeous, and so much fun! Picture below!), but then I ended up getting sick AND leaving my camera in my moms truck. So I had to wait until I saw her again to get it back! BUT. I AM BACK! And promise to not be gone this long again any time soon!

So todays post is for a little gem I found in my local Kroger. (Look for polish WHERE EVER you can girls!). I Lily Love You is actually from OPI's Summer 2011 Nice Stem! Collection, but its so much fun I had to give it its own post anyway!

I Lily Love You is a sheer pink polish PACKED with iridescent flakies, squares, and lots of other tiny glitters. This polish is really sheer so instead of laying it on a thousand times, I just went ahead and layered it over two coats of OPI's Do You Think Im Tex-y? which I think is a perfect layering combo. This polish went on great, and packed a lot of punch (meaning I only needed two coats to get THIS much glitter on my nails. Actually think I could have gotten away with one easy). Over all, fun glitter polish. AND it actually looks great layered over a lot of other polishes as well. I was looking at some swatches of it over black and it looked AMAZING! I will def. have to try that soon!

OPI can be purchased at most beauty stores and retails for $8.50

YAY For Vacations!

Just letting everyone know that I WILL be on a trip to New Orleans until Friday of this week, so I may not be posting much. I do know I have one post that I will probably post tomorrow but that might be it.

And of course, I am taking this time to check out any sort of different nail polishes that I can get my hands on that I may not have access to around my neighborhood! :) See you back here soon!

Lush Lacquer Flippin Out

The other day I mentioned that I had a nice little jelly sandwich that I was going to show you using Nail Junkie's Apple Jelly Shimmer. Well this is it! :) Flippin Out (previously named "Dippin Dots") is pretty much the pastel edition to Lush Lacquer's Lite Brite. It's a clear based polish with hex, bar, and square glitters in multiple sizes in the colors pink, orange, green, blue, yellow, and purple. And it is PACKED with glitters. I found it to be extremely easy to apply, and I only needed one coat to get the amount I need on my nail. All in all, I think it would be a great go-to multi color glitter polish if you enjoy the more pastel colored glitters. Definitely a fun change from the norm! :)

This picture seems to show a lot of orange toned glitters, but in reality its pretty evenly mixed. I think my camera just picked it up funny...

Flipping Out retails for $8.75 and can be purchased on Lush Lacquers etsy site.

KB Shimmer Shattered Heart

Ok, so about a month ago I discovered KB Shimmer's lovely Vegas Bomb (possible post still to come!), and I had to have it! So naturally when KB Shimmer came out with a NEON summer collection I literally FREAKED out with excitement. Dream. Come. True. The best part is that KB Shimmer has her own website that you can shop at now, so there is no rushing around, no having polishes "stolen" out of your cart, and all of those other problems that can sometimes go along with trying to purchase more popular polishes on etsy. She keeps her shop open 24/7 and you can order from her whenever you want (you can shop at your pace). Since I didn't have to worry about running out of time and grabbing all of the polishes at once, I decided to just order Shattered Heart, and three others for now (which you will be seeing soon!).

Shattered Hearts is a BRIGHT neon pink creme polish filled with black bars, two sizes of black hexs,  black "shreds", and lovely little black hearts! Unfortunately there aren't any hearts on my nails in any of these pictures, but I would like everyone to know that it is NOT because of any problem with the polish. They actually came out like a dream, and I had one on every nail on my left hand, and then my pointer finger nail decided to have a serious breakage problem (like really short. so sad.) so I had to take pictures of my right hand (which I literally never do) and that hand didn't have any hearts because I had purposely put them on the other. :(

But anyway, let me tell you, KB Shimmer did NOT disappoint with this polish. I think its actually even BETTER than the previous polishes that I got from her! It was the perfect consistency (not thick like I thought it might be), and was completely opaque in just two coats. I seriously love the way the black glitters from the first coat sort of peek through the second coat so well. Such a pretty neon polish! As with most neon polishes, Shattered Heart dried with a sort of satin finish, but that was easily remedied with a quick coat of SV. I can't wait to show you all the other yummy polishes from KB soon. :)

Shattered Heart can be purchased on the KB Shimmer website and retails for $8.50 (I really appreciate the great price that these polishes have kept even after growing popularity! Thanks KB Shimmer!)

The Nail Junkie Apple Jelly Shimmer

Hey guys! Did everyone have a good 4th of July? We had some A-MAZ-ING fireworks here in Houston, but of course I left my camera in the apartment and didn't get any pictures. :( I have something VERY exciting and special for you today! A polish from The Nail Junkie's summer collection! While I wanted to go crazy and order every single polish in this collection, I refrained and just ordered my very favorite, Apple! And I mean FAVORITE! The Nail Junkie describes Apple as a "neon green jelly with two sizes of shimmery glitter". Let me tell you, this is the perfect green jelly. Im seriously in love! One of my favorite things about this polish is that fact that it has TINY shimmery glitter. While I am still a TOTAL lover of big chunky glitter, I really respect Aleta for not being like everyone else in the indie world right now and throwing some in there just because thats what she thinks everyone wants, because this seriously WORKS for this polish! (Once again, not dogging polish makers that have lots of glitters in their polish, I love it as much as the next guy). One of the things that I did notice about this polish is the fact that it has a serious color range depending on where you are. When I first opened this package up, I was in the bedroom and I thought to myself, great color but not so much a neon. It had more of a kelly green color to it. It wasn't until I stepped outside that I saw just now bright and neon it was. So it definitely does change a little under artificial light. Gorgeous colors either way though! (I hope that made sense)...

So seriously, absolutely no complaints about this polish. I used three coats, and one coat of SV to get this opacity. There was still a little bit of a visible nail line at times, which I usually am not a huge fan of, but I actually didn't mind it with this polish. Like I said, it just works!

SERIOUSLY! Just look at how juicy this jelly looks! Be on the look out for a sweet jelly sandwich featuring this polish soon as well! ;)

This polish retails for $10.00 and can be purchased at The Nail Junkies shop along with all of her other polishes! Unfortunately it does look like she is sold out right now, but you can check her blog and facebook for updates on her restock!

Milani Jewel FX Hot Pink

Yesterday I told y'all about my fav. new pink polish Venusian Sunrise! After wearing it for a couple days (shocking for me) the tips had begun to wear a little but I wasn't ready to take it off! So I decided to layer it with Milani Jewel FX Hot Pink. This polish is a clear base with chunky hot pink AND wait for it... HOLO glitters! The camera didn't really pick up the holo-goodness very well, but in real life these little guys are fierce! Like full spectrum rainbow fierce! Application was a little tricky. It was a little on the thick side, and the glitter doesn't really like to stick to the nails right away, so this is def. a dab and disperse kinda polish.

All of the Milani Jewel FX polishes can be purchased at your local drugstore or at their online site for $4.99.
